Hey Everyone,
If you ever find yourself in Korea and able to drive I am going to go ahead and recommend that you not follow the directions of the any construction worker giving you the go ahead... NONE OF THEM!
I have on multiple occasions now been directed by these "directors" to go and have on almost all of these occasions either almost hit someone or almost been hit. The crazy thing is that the people literally just keep waving the orange baton thing to say go on ahead as if there are 2 vehicles not about to collide right in front of them!!!
I have almost been hit by construction trucks, people coming in the other direction, and people pulling out from places that are blind spots because they are behind some sort of blockade. I in return have almost hit other people coming from the other direction and also people pulling out of spots that I can't see.
I just don't understand... Like... When that's your only job is to look to see if it is okay for 2 vehicles to go how hard can it be to signal "hold on" or "stop" to one car and "go ahead to another"? That's literally the only thing that they need to do. But instead of doing that they signal to 2 people THAT CANNOT SEE EACH OTHER that they can both "go" when in fact they cannot. So if the people get into an accident does the traffic person that told them they could go have insurance that pays for both cars?
(PS I looked for images of construction workers directing traffic and without starting to scroll down the images that popped up were all of construction workers with one hand held out saying stop :-/)
I'm just saying.
