I Don't Really Do Wild Animals...

Hi All,

I thought that I shared this story awhile back but I can't seem to find it.  Forgive me if this is a repeat of a previous post...

So one evening back at like the beginning of the summer, or maybe the end of spring, Daniel and I went on a walk around the base.  Nothing special just walking and talking a bit.  Well, we get to a point where we're walking back towards our apartment but still quite aways away when Daniel suddenly sees something.  At this point it was dusk so not very bright and I just brushed it off as a cat.

He however was sure that it was not a cat and we both squinted in the dark as whatever it was ran across the street.  Daniel being the more adventurous and curious of the two of us in this particular situation picked up his pace a bit and went more towards the direction of whatever creature we saw lurking in the evening.

It stopped under the shelter of a bench in a gazebo and Daniel thought that it was a good idea to make a noise that one would make at like a pet house cat that got away.  Like the clicky tongue noise thing, you know what I'm talking about.  Anyway, the creature turned and looked at him disinterestedly but at the same time as if to say, "I see you."  This sort of scared me because I realized it was for sure some sort of wild animal and if you read my post about the Australian opossum, you know that I don't tend to do well with wild animals. (http://defyinfinity.blogspot.kr/2013/09/a-night-in-jail-wild-animals-and-other.html)

My scared came out as mad as I told Daniel to stop since we have no idea what it was and what if it started chasing us.  He would be able to out run it but I would probably get bit or something because that's what happens to the innocent bystander.  He stopped but was still curious as to what it was since it was dark and we couldn't really see whatever it was entirely clearly.

From what we could tell it appeared to be a cross between a raccoon and a dog.  The look of a US raccoon but bigger.  When we got home he google searched "Korean raccoon dog" and this is what we agreed it was.  So they do have animals here even though we don't see much of them.

Genesis 1:24, 25
And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Love you,
Camille
