The Journey to SoKo is Complete

Hey All,

We have successfully arrived in Korea!  It was a long trip and flight but it was safe and we have all of our luggage :-)

I'm going to start with the going away fellowship that occurred on the Friday before we left.  It was a beyond major blessing to be able to say bye to some friends from church, small group, and bible study.  We ate some fun foods and desserts that were American inspired as well as some overseas dishes that we had never tried.  The best part was the prayer circle!  I loved being prayed over and also being able to pray over our fellow believers that have been awesome supports to us in our time here.  Many of the people were those that Daniel met and knew prior to me moving to Colorado and others were people that met through small group and were accountability people for each of us.  It is my prayer that everyone out there have fellow believers that they can share in accountability because it is a major blessing and help in this walk.

About the journey... So we of course started with the drive from Aurora to Dallas which took place overnight and was 0% fun and 100% exhausting.  Daniel was really interested in going to Tony Evans' church in Dallas but we also needed to have the last couple of things done to the house in preparation for us leaving.  After the service we pretty much just went out to eat then were in the hotel the rest of the time due to being so exhausted from the drive.  The next day we explored Dallas a bit before taking the car to the shipping company...

The short story is that it took Daniel an hour to convince the company to take the car.  The policy is that the car needs to have 1/4 tank of gas or less and ours was about 3 notches above that, even with us driving around for about an hour prior to try to get it to go down.  Since we took it at the last possible minute there was no time to do anything else to get the gas out.  The guy eventually agreed to take the car but like I said it took an hour.

We flew from Dallas to Seattle and landed there at like 930-10pm.  We had to stay there until we could get our tickets at 130am.  We waited in line with a growing number of other military people.  It was uncomfortable on the floor with all those bags attempting to try to make ourselves comfortable, FAIL!  Then of course pretty much everything was closed and that includes the train to the terminal we needed.  I picked some random spot where I plugged in my phone for charging and just sat with other people waiting to get on the train.  Our flight wasn't until around 8am and then we headed to one of Japan's AFB for the next 10 hours.  We were there for about 2 hours and then got here to the Osan AFB.

These are pictures from along the way... Colorado--> Dallas--> Seattle--> Japan--> Korea

Some of our friends in Colorado at the dinner after some people left... Love you guys!

Packers getting the stuff ready to put in the truck for shipping.

The house is all done, new floors...

Some new kitchen appliances and fresh paint :-)

New carpeting upstairs!

This would be Dallas.  A view of a movie that they were shooting to reenact Kennedy being assassinated was being filmed.

A view of Daniel and the Dallas Skyline.

Waiting in line in Seattle, sleepy.

"Are we there yet?"

Looking out the window along the flight going over Japan.

This is equivalent to about $11.50.  This is Korean "won."

More pictures of Korea to come of course!

See ya, miss ya, love ya!
