You know when your uterine wall bleeds and causes cramping once a month for about a week and you just really don’t feel like doing anything? (Well, at least females know!) That’s how I’m feeling right now. The issue is that yesterday I paid to be at Magnetic Island for 2 nights in a hostel with my travel mates. It is a beautiful location from the sandy beach to the water to the tree covered hills in the distance and surrounding me.

I’m going to have to push past laziness so that I can fully
experience the places that I will be.
Easier said than done as I sit comfortably on my top bunk in the little
hut my travel mates and I are sharing with 2 other people. This hostel is by far in the coolest location
of all of the places I’ve formally stayed.
We’ve parked and camped out in some cool places but as far as a room
stay this beats all the others. I feel
like I’m at a modern day summer camp for adults. The setup is multiple little houses/huts that
people share across a decent sized campus/site.
The main building has a bar and restaurant as well as entertainment area
with a small stage and games. (look up
Base Magnetic Island)
Something crazy I realized before boarding the ferry to get
here… I’ve been in the same state this entire trip. Yes, I’ve gone to different islands off of
the state but they’re still considered the same state if I’m not mistaken. That means I’ve been in Queensland the full
span of my trip and look at all that I’ve seen in just this one place (and only
along the coast)! I still have a lot
more of this huge country to explore and fewer weeks and months to do so
because it took about 1 full month to explore only 1 state.
Now my “must do to do list” includes: going to the outback,
going to Perth, and going to Sydney.
Everything else is an added bonus now that I’ve surfed and seen the
Coral Reef.
